Pay no attention to any turbulence or seat belt signs, even in the event of a major storm continue to numb yourself with Sex alcohol, drugs, money and of course our delicious all you can eat buffet. just keep on roaming the cabin searching for your next attempt at satisfaction. eventually we will run out of fuel and make a screaming decent to eternal death and destruction, but until then party on!
Now you may be thinking to yourself, I want to get off this plane, and you may not be telling your neighbor next to you but inside you know, you need to get off this plane. And you may even be indulging in some of these pleasures knowing all and well where this flights lands. And as we speak your palms are beginning to sweat and your stomach is starting to turn as life’s cabin fever sets in. it feels as if the temperature is rising and the walls are closing in, so you get up from your first class seat to death and begin playing back all the good times you’ve had or so you though… now they seem useless and the inner pain caused by your decisions is inevitable. Its real your own pride that keeps you on the plane thinking about how your own efforts and investments, your time, your money, your desires, your accomplishments have given you a temporary purpose and illusion of self motivated personal development to reach that next level of your dreams.
I often wonder how people can jump from a burning buildings. You know being at the point where the temporary pause from pain is more valuable than life itself. Or maybe there’s a part of us that hopes somehow , someone will catch us. I think that’s called faith. faith is something, someone, bigger than us will catch us mid fall like hero and save us. its really our only choice, we either stay on the burning aircraft of emense pain or jump. with no parachute, no safety release, and no waking up to a bed of comfort. Our biggest mistake is believing that Gods is going to catch us. That we jump with no parachute and this loving God is going to catch us, saving our live and setting us down on our feet so nicely when its actually nothing like that.
In fact when I possessed the desperation to put all my faith in the hands of an invisible God, the truth is gravity pulled me down, bullet speed to the ground. And my entire life crashed into reality with such an impact, with such velocity, that everything I thought was real, Everything I thought identified who i was is now 6 feet underground. My desires, My addictions, My attractions, My Sin. and it was then as my body lay there lifeless, splattered on a canvas of destruction, It was then that God picked me up and put me back to together, and He gave me a new heart, push fresh blood in my veins, breathed life into my lungs and filled me with His spirit. For it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loves me and gave himself for me. Who’s ready to jump?
